I help brands find their soul and create voraciously from that place

Brand Strategy

Being spontaneous and wandering aimlessly is one of life’s great joys! But for brands, it’s a good way to burn through cash, resources, and fry your people. What I do instead is help brands figure out their unique zag - and the vision, mission, purpose, and values that drives it. Once the team is clear, they become more decisive, agile, creative, impactful, and flowy as a team. Are you clear about what your brand stands for? Is your team? Your buyer? What about your end consumer? Let’s figure it out.

Leadership + Fractional Work

I love leading people and teams. My approach comes down to a couple simple principles - be human (I’ve found people don’t like being treated like robots), be clear, enable focused work (not that easy these days!), create systemic authenticity (actions + words = match), foster fearless curiosity and creativity, and by all means blur the line between work and play!

I led Kashi marketing, innovation, and sustainability for nearly twenty years. I’ve co-led and managed the brand strategy agency Purely Righteous Brands for six years. I regularly advise and roll up sleeves with leaders from startup founders to juggernaut execs and board members on their businesses, their culture, and their own personal growth. What’s the toughest thing you’re grappling with to grow your team and business right now? Bring it on.

Innovation

The act of creating animates my soul. I’ve been told by teammates that it’s contagious (and even seen it with my own eyes, watch out for those people). My unique approach to innovation smashes together scientific research, consumer and market research, taste-maker immersion, helpful process, and improv-style collaboration to generate ideas that find the elusive intersect of healthy growth, impact, and feasibility.

I’ve launched 1000’s of new products in 40+ categories across multiple countries for some of the most progressive brands in the natural products industry. What’s your thorniest innovation question? I bet we can solve it together.

Design

I’m a sucker for good design, and it’s essential for building brands that matter. I work with brands to lead their designs (whether its new to the world or a refresh) with my extensive network of iconic designers. My craft is being the bridge between strategy and creative. Clients love it because I make it easier for them to transform their brands. Designers love it because I give them the clarity and juicy, creative springboards they need to elevate your brand’s vibe and message. Will your current design be relevant where you’re headed?
